This is a pre production model and the original factory press car. This little beauty was a Sunbeam pre production design study and used by Talbot for all their sales brochures to showcase their new luxury model,
A copy of which I have in the history folder of the car. This particular car is an early prototype of the new range of sunbeams and she has a very unique identification plate which is stamped 'Pre Production'. The 1.6GLS was very much an upgraded model with velour seats and plush interior with rev counter etc.
It is definitely a very rare piece of motoring history!
The car is absolutely immaculate, She was stripped back to bare metal and a full professional respray in original cherry red. When stripped back the car was in mint condition with no rust.
During the restoration process a genuine pre-production roof was also layed again.
The new roof and the fresh paint makes this car look like it's been in a time capsule!
I added a few touches just to top it off, this included the following:
- 4 RING rally giant spotlights including covers
- 4 Brand new Group 4 Rally Revolutions finished in Gold. (6inch set on the car and a 7"set in the boxes)
- 16 Brand new wheel nuts
- 4 Brand new tyres
The original engine has been rebuilt and included a few upgrades:
-1600cc
- High Lift Camshaft
- Double Spring Valves
- Twin 40 Webber Carbs
- 4 branch exhaust Manifold
Suspension
- GAZ Fully adjustable shocks
A full portfolio of service history including around 20 + old mot certificates
All original brochures featuring the car ect

Car is located in Northern Ireland, can do walk round video, or more pictures for any serious buyers
Can collect buyer from airport or ferry terminal and can organise delivery when car is paid in full.
There is no car to compare this one to as it's the only pre production model ever made and the brochure car.
